Three Southwest Florida Lowe's Stores to Sell Florimulch

FORT MYERS, Fla.  (Jan. 15, 2004) - As any home gardener can attest, there are a number of mulch products available and all are not equal.  Florimulch, a melaleuca mulch product developed by Forestry Resources, provides an environmentally friendly solution offering a number of advantages over other types of mulches.   Now, that mulch is available to Southwest Florida consumers through a new agreement with Lowe's Home Improvement Stores. 
 The new agreement now puts Forestry Resources' Florimulch product in the lawn and garden section of the following Lowe's stores:

In addition to Florimulch, Lowe's will also begin carrying Forestry Resources' Washed White Shell product.  This bright white garden landscaping shell is 5/8 inch in size, long lasting and will not wash away.  It is ideal for walkways and driveways. 
Florimulch, a leader in the melaleuca mulch market, provides a number of features based on its core component - melaleuca.   It serves a practical use of controlling weeds, reducing watering, and protecting roots.  Recent studies suggest another benefit - it is termite resistant.  Research conducted at the University of Florida suggests termites survived better and consumed more mulch made up of pine and cypress sapwoods.  However, they did not survive with a strict melaleuca diet.  In addition, Florimulch meets Florida Department of Agriculture standards and requirements to be state certified nematode free.
Other benefits to using FloriMulch include, it is arsenic-free*, contains no wood treated with CCA or other non-organic chemicals, and is completely non-toxic.  FloriMulch products are derived from 100 percent melaleuca and endorsed by the Friends of the Everglades as a method of eradicating this exotic weed-tree and restoring native wetlands.
